Where Would I Be Without My Writing Group?

Not sitting on the pavement outside a closed Starbucks, that's for sure.

When the coffee shop shut down in the middle of my new novel's conclusion, these girls took it outside.

While Christy and Marcia crammed together on a cold metal bench, Julie sat frozen in a parking space. Under the light of the moon, they went over and over and over my pages, offering incredible insight.

I'm telling you, that's devotion.

Sounds like a great group, Jennie. Crit groups run hot and cold. Sounds like yours is on fire.

J, You're lucky your group is still intact. I joined a group and we tried it for a while, but we couldn't quite get the knack of it. It kinda dissolved after a while.

If you have a group that's working for you, I say, Stick with it!

It's true, Ellen and J, these girls are sharp but kind, deep-thinking but funny.

"Lucky" id definitely the word for it.

Yes! We are so lucky to have a smart, dedicated group. We'd sit in any old parking lot to work on a manuscript that had just been finished!

Congrats!

I did offer up a blanket! I thought Julie looked positively picturesque. Too bad we didn't have any champagne.
